Fabrizio Romano says £29m player Man City shortlisted has now said yes to signing for AC Milan

Manchester City did not waste much this time this summer as they promptly wrapped up the signings of Rayan Ait-Nouri, Tijjani Reijnders, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki.

What could be a concern for their rivals is that Manchester City could make more signings after the FIFA Club World Cup — a competition where the Sky Blues are the only side to have won all three of their games.

However, it looks like Pep Guardiola has been granted most of his much-needed additions to replenish this City squad after they suffered their most disappointing season since the Catalan’s debut campaign.

Manchester City chose not to sign Declan Rice before his move to Arsenal and the English giants are known for being extremely careful with which players they bring in.

Man City target Ardon Jashari wants to sign for AC Milan

However, Manchester City held talks to sign Ardon Jashari as he was one of the names they had shortlisted and the Club Brugge wonderkid was expected to be sold for around £29 million.

Apart from Manchester City, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund have been eyeing Jashari as well, who has emerged as one of the most talented defensive midfielders in Europe.

However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Swiss international has decided to sign for Milan.

While Club Brugge would like the Italian giants to stump up a higher fee than €30 million (£25.7 million) to sign Jashari, the player feels a move to AC Milan is the “ideal destination” for him to develop his game.

Tijjani Reijnders could be Manchester City’s backup to Rodri

The 22-year-old is certainly a gifted prospect and one who may have thrived if he made a move to the Etihad Stadium.

But ultimately, Tijjani Reijnders impressed against Wydad AC as a defensive midfielder and he could be the understudy to Rodri much like Jashari would have been if he chose to join Manchester City instead of AC Milan.

Furthermore, Mateo Kovacic is a solid, if not spectacular option in holding midfield as well.

As a result, Pep Guardiola and Hugo Viana may not be losing much sleep after discovering that Jashari could soon become an AC Milan player.
