Manchester City have seen many young players make moves in and out of the club in recent years.

While names such as Phil Foden, Rico Lewis and Oscar Bobb have emerged through City’s youth ranks to become regular players in Pep Guardiola’s first team, others have been loaned out of the Etihad Stadium or sold on permanent deals.

Having loaned out players such as James McAtee, Josh Wilson-Esbrand and Issa Kabore, the Citizens have sold other young talents such as Cole Palmer, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Tommy Doyle and James Trafford in recent memory.

Now though, one journalist has claimed that the Manchester club could be about to add another young talent to their academy.

Man City confident of landing transfer deal for Xavier Parker

In a recent post shared on his official X account, Fabrizio Romano had this to say on the matter.

He said: “Understand Manchester City are frontrunners to sign young talent Xavier Parker from West Ham for their Academy.

“Man City are confident to get it done beating many English top clubs to the signing.”

City could be getting their hands on another exciting young player

The teenage midfielder has made two appearances for West Ham’s U18 side.

His first appearance came back in February when he made a two-minute cameo in the Hammers’ 5-2 defeat to West Bromwich Albion’s U18 side.

Parker then went on to play 10 minutes as a substitute in West Ham’s 4-1 win over Crystal Palace’s U18 team.

Now that Romano has said that not only are City in the driving seat to land a deal for the midfielder but also that many other top clubs in England have been looking at Parker shows just how much of an exciting young talent he is.

Moving forward, if the Blues do end up landing a deal for the young midfielder, he’ll definitely be one to keep an eye on and see how he fares in City’s youth ranks.
