Tottenham Hotspur have been chasing a few Manchester City players this summer.
Indeed, Spurs have been chasing Savinho for a little while, but that move appears to have hit a dead end.
More recently, Tottenham have been linked to Nathan Ake as well.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have made an approach for another Manchester City star.
Indeed, according to the journalist, Spurs have gone in for Manuel Akanji as we approach transfer deadline day.

Tottenham make Manuel Akanji approach
According to Romano, Spurs have made an approach for Manuel Akanji.
Tottenham apparently have a three-man defensive shortlist heading into the final days of the window, and they’ve now made their move for Akanji.
Akanji had been linked with AC Milan, while a move to Turkey appeared to be on the cards at one point too.
However, now, another Premier League option has emerged, and this late twist could well change Akanji’s situation in the final days of the window.
Tottenham have already signed Kevin Danso and Kota Takai as new defenders this summer, but they’re still looking for another centre-half.
Manuel Akanji’s record vs Tottenham
As every Man City fan probably knows by now, Spurs have been something of a bogey team for Manchester City in recent times.
Indeed, Tottenham have often got the better of City in their recent clashes, and they were at it again this weekend.
Akanji knows this only too well as he actually has a losing record against Spurs over the years for both Borussia Dortmund and City.

Akanji can’t seem to get the better of Tottenham, and, as the old saying goes, if you can’t beat them, join them.
The Swiss international has a big few days ahead of him as his future at the Etihad, or elsewhere, is decided, and this late approach to Tottenham could well change his transfer plans.
