What Enzo Maresca has said about Rodri
The developments with Rodri since the end of the World Cup are far from ideal for City, who now face losing their best and most influential player.
That he only has a year left on his contract means there is big pressure to sell, when new manager Enzo Maresca would obviously prefer to retain him.
Speaking at his first Man City press conference, Maresca said of Rodri (via Goal): “We have to say that around big players there are always speculation. I’m not worried about that, it’s normal. They won the World Cup and he was one of the best players. Every manager wants to have Rodri, but now surgery. He needs to rest and recover, and then he will be back here with us.”
