Manchester City fans cannot wait for the January transfer window, as it could be a busy one this time around.
It’s been a tough first part of the season so far for Manchester City, who are currently on a seven-game losing streak.
Injuries have proven significant for Pep Guardiola, who is really struggling without his main man
in midfield.
The Spaniard will be out for the foreseeable future after suffering an ACL injury against Arsenal, and fans are expecting a replacement to be signed in January.
It’s been reported Guardiola could actually sign up to three new players in January, which really would be quite something considering City tend not to do business mid-season.
But it remains to be seen if opportunities present themselves.
Meanwhile, Rodri is enjoying some time not playing football, and lapping up the plaudits he richly deserves.
He recently picked up the Ballon d’Or and last night, he attended the AS awards ceremony.
And at one point, he was actually asked if Nico Williams was a player Manchester City should sign.
Rodri wants Nico Williams at Manchester City

The ceremony host asked Rodri if he would take Athletic Bilbao and Spain star Nico Williams at Manchester City ‘tomorrow’.
The City star replied as translated by the Metro: “Yes, yes. Right now if I was taking him I would also be taking him to teach him a little bit about the cold in England, although it’s similar to Bilbao.
“But yes, I would take him with me without a doubt.”
Despite all the talk about Williams over the past year, City have never actually been linked with the star. As per the Metro, Williams has a release clause of about £48 million.
Man City fans would love Williams
Williams was one of the most exciting players at Euro 2024 and is a player who big clubs have been linked with for quite some time now.
There was a point last summer when it looked as though he would join Barcelona.
But he ended up staying at Bilbao, and taking the number 10 shirt.
Rodri’s comments were circulating on social media yesterday – and plenty of City fans would love to see Williams at the Etihad Stadium.
Williams would be exciting, but there’d be one potential issue
Williams could well make for a very exciting signing, as he’s the type of player who gets people out of their chairs.
However, there would be one potential issue for City if they did go in pursuit of Williams.
Nico Williams for Athletic Bilbao first-team (2021-present)
Appearances – 140
Goals – 20
Assists – 31
His output in terms of goals and assists is sadly not much to shout home about, having scored 22 goals and made 31 assists in 140 appearances for Bilbao.
They’re not terrible numbers, but City are currently crying out for attacking players who can score semi-regularly to ease the burden on Erling Haaland.
That said, if Rodri genuinely thinks Williams would be a good addition for City then perhaps he should be considered. Especially if Jack Grealish moves on next summer.
