Fenerbahce fans excited about Ederson signing
One Fenerbahce fan reacted to Ederson’s arrival in disbelief, as he wrote: “I still can’t believe that he’s with us now.”
A second supporter had a similar view about the former Manchester City goalkeeper’s signing, as he said: “It feels unreal, man.”
A third Fenerbahce fan believes Ederson could transform the Turkish side due to his outstanding distribution, writing: “Normally, you don’t often see a goalkeeper contributing tactically, but this is different. The long balls this guy can launch, considering the players on both wings, will make any opponent pressing high up the pitch uneasy. It’s ideal for teams like ours that struggle to play out from the back.”
Manchester City News confirmed Ederson was keen to join Galatasaray but after he sported the Fenerbahce kit, another fan claimed it suits him well: “It suits him so well, he’s totally our kind of player, for real.”
With the 32-year-old potentially taking Dominik Livakovic’s spot in goal, another supporter commented: “Finally, we have a real goalkeeper in goal.”
Lastly, a sixth Fenerbahce fan named Ederson as the best goalkeeper in the Turkish Super Lig, writing: “The best goalkeeper in the league is now at the biggest and most honorable club in the league. It suits him.”
While it was claimed that Ederson wanted to stay in the Premier League, the fans’ widespread appreciation vindicates his decision to make a move to Istanbul.
Players who have played for Fenerbahce and Manchester City
Fenerbahce are known to have some of the most passionate supporters in the world and if Ederson impresses during his time at the club, he will go down as a fan favourite.
So far, only three players have played for both clubs.
- Edin Dzeko
- Nicolas Anelka
- Dalian Atkinson
Ederson could potentially outdo the aforementioned names as he still remains a top-class goalkeeper.
Whether he fares well in Turkey remains to be seen but it would be a fool’s errand to write off a serial winner like the former Benfica shotstopper.
