Manchester City are reportedly getting closer to agreeing a transfer deal for Declan Rice.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the Citizens are preparing to make a bid to sign the West Ham United midfielder, who Arsenal are also looking to sign and have had two bids already rejected for him.
With that in mind, another update has emerged regarding the Manchester club’s reported pursuit of the Englishman.
City getting closer to Rice deal

In a recent Twitter post, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio said this on the matter.
He said: “Declan #Rice getting closer to @ManCity: confidence to reach final agreement with @WestHam.”
After making his senior debut for West Ham back in May 2017, the midfielder has gone on to make 245 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists along the way, as well as recently lifting the Europa Conference League.
With the Hammers reportedly looking to pick up a fee of around £100m for their captain, it’s safe to say that this would be a big investment for City to make, and one in a similar fashion to their 2021 move for Jack Grealish.

Having only recently joined the race to sign the 24-year-old, this latest update suggesting the club are close and confident in agreeing a deal for Rice, this shows how eager the European champions are of signing him.
Also, with reports claiming the Citizens have agreed a £30m deal to sign Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea, the fact that they are looking to bring the Hammers star in as well suggests that Pep Guardiola is looking to freshen up his midfield this summer with players who have plenty of top-flight experience.
