'Flabbergasting': Pep Guardiola reacts after Phil Foden's masterclass in FA Cup victory

Pep Guardiola has waxed lyrical about Phil Foden, who put in a spellbinding performance for Manchester City in their 3-0 victory against Bristol City in the FA Cup.

The £200,000-a-week man was splendid from start to finish, opening the scoring after being perfectly positioned to tap the ball into the net, whilst putting the game beyond the hosts’ reach by converting his brace. However, what was striking was just how sublime the Englishman’s display was as a whole.

So much so that Pep Guardiola, much like any and every Manchester City fan was blown away by the Phil Foden masterclass on display against Bristol City in the FA Cup.

Pep Guardiola raves about Phil Foden as Manchester City beat Bristol City

Just recently, the Catalan manager reiterated the fact that not a single figure at City doubts the brilliance of the 22-year-old, who has been in and out of the side since before the start of the World Cup.

And once again, Pep Guardiola was extremely complimentary of Phil Foden, who shone the brightest for Manchester City in their latest win against Bristol City in the FA Cup.

“Phil’s impact has always been flabbergasting, awesome”, he was quoted saying by the Daily Mail journalist Jack Gaughan.

Guardiola continued in conversation with ITV, saying, “Phil [Foden] has been up and up and up, but the World Cup and his ankle, he had a bit of a down.”

“Phil always had [a] high level. His impact since he arrived with us has been amazing. When you work like he works, football always pays off for you.”

Phil Foden is looking back to his best

Much like Pep Guardiola, every Manchester City supporter seems to get the feeling that Phil Foden is returning to his former self, as his masterful display against Bristol City in the FA Cup is just one of 3 back-to-back brilliant displays under his belt.

Injury woes and the performances of Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez out wide have not helped the wonderkid’s cause in recent weeks.

But as the decorated attacker proved once again, doubting him at this point is just naïve.
