One unnamed football agent is now expecting Kalvin Phillips to leave Manchester City in January.
The anonymous figure shared their thoughts with The Athletic.
So, what is the situation involving Kalvin Phillips? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, The Athletic interviewed a handful of anonymous football agents to get their views on the summer transfer window, including the best deal, the most surprising deal, and deals they expect to happen in January.
It was in the latter section where the claim about Phillips was made, as one football agent used their vote to express the belief that Manchester City’s No.4 will leave the Etihad Stadium this winter.
Unfortunately, no quotes were given on the England international – only Jadon Sancho and Ivan Toney’s respective situations were discussed.
Nevertheless, The Athletic’s chart still shows one vote for Phillips to depart.

The £160,000-a-week man has only played six minutes of Premier League football so far this season, which all came in the 5-1 win over Fulham.
Phillips failed to get off the bench in the wins over Burnley, Newcastle and Sheffield United.
Kalvin Phillips should leave Manchester City
In our view, Phillips must leave if he wants to get back to playing regularly.
The 27-year-old only made two Premier League starts last season, and despite the departure of Ilkay Gundogan seemingly boosting him up the pecking order, Pep Guardiola then signed Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes to add further competition.

Of course – if an exit does not materialise – Phillips is good to have around, as he remains a quality player despite his lack of action.
However, if the Yorkshire Pirlo – as he was affectionately nicknamed by Leeds fans – wants to become a main man in the starting XI once again like he was at Elland Road, a departure may have to happen.
