Jeremy Doku put in a sparkling performance in Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool.
Following the latest international break, the Citizens returned to Premier League action with the arrival of Liverpool to the Etihad Stadium.
Erling Haaland put the home side 1-0 up in the first half of the game before Trent Alexander-Arnold found an equaliser for his side in the second period of the match.
Despite not being able to deliver a goal contribution on this occasion, one player who we feel put in an eye-catching performance against the Reds and deserves praise is Doku.
Doku dazzles against Liverpool

With the entire 90 minutes under his belt against Jurgen Klopp’s travelling side, the winger was able to show how useful he can be for his team from an attacking and defensive point of view.
In terms of his attacking input, the 21-year-old was able to deliver four key passes for City and successfully complete 11 of the 15 dribbles he attempted.
This shows how much danger he provided for City’s attack and how much of a nuisance he was for Liverpool’s defence to deal with.
Looking at his defensive work, the Belgian made four tackles throughout the game and won 17 of the 25 duels he was involved in, which showcases how hard he works for the team when they don’t have the ball.
This performance ultimately earned Doku, who City signed from Rennes in a deal worth £55m during the previous summer transfer window, an overall match rating of 8.6/10 from SofaScore, comfortably making him the highest-rated player on the day.
With all of that in mind, while he would have undoubtedly preferred to deliver a goal or assist for his side, Doku once again showed how much of a hard-working and dangerous attacking figure he can be for Pep Guardiola’s side.
