Alan Shearer has continued to be blown away by Manchester City star Erling Haaland.
Haaland has taken the Premier League by storm since his high-profile switch from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022.
In just his first season, the Norwegian sensation netted a remarkable 52 goals in 52 games and fired City to a historic treble triumph.
Though he has been injured for a large chunk of the campaign, he is still the joint top scorer in the league this season. Sharing top spot with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah on 14.
He has 19 strikes in all competitions, taking his tally for the club to 71 in just 75 matches, and Alan Shearer has been left very impressed.
Alan Shearer heaps praise on Erling Haaland
Shearer told Canal+ Foot: “I just think he’s a freak of nature in terms of everything.
“If you’re building the ideal centre forward from scratch then Haaland would be it. His movement is very good, he’s good in the air, he’s got a good touch, he can shoot with either foot.”

How long will Erling Haaland stay at Manchester City?
If there is one anxiety around Haaland’s magnificent City tenure it is the question of how long it will last.
Haaland has already nearly won all there is to win at City having claimed the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, European Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
The only piece of silverware to elude him for now is the comparatively less prestigious Carabao Cup.
It certainly doesn’t look like he’s lost any hunger to win more with City and there has been no suggestion at all that he is eyeing a move.
But there is of course the worry that he could leave to conquer a new league before too long.
There is a reported release clause in his current contract – which otherwise runs until 2027 – and there is always the looming prospect of Real Madrid swooping in for him.
Let’s hope that doesn’t happen any time soon and he continues to blast them in for City for years to come.
