Manchester City have now made contact to sign Arthur Vermeeren from Royal Antwerp – a player who has been tipped to do special things.

Well, Manchester City are keeping a close eye on the 18-year-old wonderkid.
Bailey believes the treble winners have already sent an enquiry to Royal Antwerp about Vermeeren’s situation – while a number of other top sides across Europe have done the same.
The respected journalist said: “This guy is special. Antwerp have a little superstar on their hands here in Arthur Vermeeren. He really is, from what I’m being told speaking to scouts, they think he’s special. Our understanding is that Man City, Arsenal and Tottenham have all enquired about him, so have Bayern Munich, Dortmund and Juventus, Barcelona as well who looked in the summer at him.”
Clearly, Manchester City face fierce competition for the Belgium international.
How much Manchester City could pay for Arthur Vermeeren
Manchester City have shown real intellect in the market across recent years as opposed to simply throwing money at big names.
The Citizens somehow signed Julian Alvarez from River Plate for just £14.1m back in January 2022.
Manchester City also found superb value in signing Manuel Akanji from Borussia Dortmund for only £15m.
Now – according to TEAMtalk – a similar bargain could be on the horizon for Pep Guardiola in Vermeeren, who is believed to be available for just £15m in January.
If Manchester City can beat the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal and Bayern Munich to the Belgian prodigy and get a deal done for just £15m, it would be sensational business.
