Belgium manager Domenico Tedesco has praised Manchester City for how they managed Kevin De Bruyne’s recovery from injury.
After being forced off the pitch in the first half of City’s opening Premier League game of the season against Burnley back in August, the midfielder had surgery to fix a hamstring problem.
The recovery then kept the 32-year-old out of action until January and has only recently started to play a significant amount of minutes in games.
With De Bruyne now looking to be close to full fitness and sharpness, one person, who has an invested interest in the midfielder’s well-being, has shared his thoughts on the Belgian’s journey to recovery.
Belgium manager praises City for De Bruyne recovery

Speaking in an interview published in a recent printed edition of Het Belang van Limburg (via Sport Witness), Tedesco had this to say about De Bruyne and his recovery.
He said: “That makes me very happy indeed. We have followed his recovery process closely and full credit goes to Manchester City for the way they have handled it.”
Tedesco was named as Belgium’s manager just over a year ago and has since won eight of the 10 games he’s overlooked in his current role, drawing the other two.
With the 38-year-old aiming to have a successful time in Germany during the upcoming European Championship, it’s understandable why he is so pleased that De Bruyne has overcome his hamstring issue and is now back playing regularly.
Since making his return to action, De Bruyne has scored one goal and provided four assists across the five games he’s appeared in.
This highlights how much of an impact he can provide in Pep Guardiola’s side and why Tedesco will undoubtedly be hoping that the midfielder can have a similar impact for his Belgium side once the Euros start.
However, regardless of Tedesco’s praise for the way City handled the player’s recovery, the only hope that City supporters will have is to see De Bruyne avoid any more injuries and help his side regain the three titles he helped them win last season.
