Manchester City took on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and Bernardo Silva’s performance garnered a lot of attention on social media.
Nottingham Forest made things incredibly difficult for Manchester City in the third vs fourth Premier League showdown, as was expected.
The 1-0 defeat would have been an incredibly difficult one to swallow for the players, the fans and of course, the manager.
Bernardo Silva was one of City’s worst performers on the day, and his future at The Etihad is clearly far from certain, with the club dealing with new contract talks on a year by year basis.
Pep Guardiola has received a lot of criticism this season, for his failure to get a tune out of some of his very best players.
Too many of them have seriously underperformed this term.
City’s fall from grace has been so extreme that Guardiola’s future at the Etihad has even been called into question!

Whilst the claims shrouding doubt on Pep’s future were far-fetched to say the least, the Spaniard definitely doesn’t seem to be as bulletproof as he once was.
And Bernardo’s decline has been symptomatic of City’s struggles as a whole this season.
Manchester City fans react to Bernardo Silva’s performance vs Nottingham Forest
The Man City fans were genuinely disgusted with Bernardo’s display at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.
It was yet another lacklustre performance from the midfielder – one totally devoid of any energy or enthusiasm.
And many City fans let the 30-year-old know just how poor he was against the Tricky Trees…
One Manchester City fan took to social media platform X and suggested that the Portugal international offers absolutely nothing, “Pep has really lost it. Seeing Bernardo Silva and Foden in his team over and over again is tormenting. They offer absolutely nothing to the team.“
Meanwhile, a second City supporter really laid into Bernardo, “I have a question, is Bernardo silva not self aware? That I’m actually bad and kdb deserves to play ahead of me? What the hell happened to having shame?“
Whilst a third simply said, “Pep is benching Kevin de Bruyne for this slow pace walking Bernardo Silva in 2025. The biasness man.“
A fourth Man City supporter questioned what the 30-year-old actually brings to the team, “Has Bernardo even had one good action today.“
Then a fifth fan suggested that it could be time for the former Monaco man to hang up his boots, “Bernardo it’s time to retire.“
Whilst a sixth Manchester City supporter took to X and echoed a similar sentiment, “Bernardo Silva is done.“
Meanwhile a seventh X user jokingly suggested that the Man City midfielder ‘ghosted’ through the clash with Forest, “Bernardo Silva Halloween was in October you can stop this ghost act.“
Bernardo Silva stats vs Nottingham Forest
The Portuguese midfielder has been very poor in general for Man City this season.
And his display against Forest on Saturday was once again very underwhelming indeed.
His stats made for pretty grim reading, via Who Scored.
| Stats vs Forest | Bernardo Silva |
| Touches | 32 |
| Shots | 2 |
| Key passes | 2 |
| Interceptions | 0 |
| Clearances | 0 |
| Blocks | 0 |

He failed the eye test as well. His all-round performance was tepid to say the least, and he failed to influence the game in a positive sense at all.
Bernardo Silva is an absolute shadow of his former self, and his performance for Manchester City against Nottingham Forest on Saturday was further evidence of his dramatic decline.
