Gabby Agbonlahor claims player Man City sold in 2022 has now become a ‘big problem’ for his current club

Manchester City have shown they aren’t shy when it comes to selling some of their big-name players.

For instance, big names such as Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling and Julian Alvarez among others have all been sold by City during previous summer transfer windows.

Despite that, Pep Guardiola has still been able to keep his side at the top of English football as they have now become the first side to win four Premier League trophies in a row.

Out of the many big-name players who have waved goodbye to the Etihad Stadium in recent years, one of them has now been accused of becoming a problem for his current side.

Gabby Agbonlahor exposes Gabriel Jesus’ drop in quality since Man City exit

While assessing Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, Gabby Agbonlahor gave this verdict in a video shared on the talkSPORT YouTube channel about Gabriel Jesus and what he’s been doing at the north London club since leaving City.

He said: “I think they’ve got a big problem with Gabriel Jesus. Hasn’t scored or assisted in 10 appearances this season.

“When he first signed he got 11 goals, seven assists in his first season in 33 games. Last season, 36 games, he got eight goals, eight assists – not bad.

“But this season zero goals, zero assists. When players are injured and not available, they’re starting [Raheem] Sterling in front of him, they’re starting other players in front of him.

“Last night [against Shakhtar], not great again, taken off for Sterling before 70 minutes.

“So they need to get Gabriel Jesus up to form, especially with little injuries to [Martin] Odegaard and [Bukayo] Saka. He needs to step up.”

Jesus admitted he struggled with criticism at City

During his four-and-a-half years at the Manchester club, Jesus scored 95 goals and supplied 45 assists in 236 appearances across all competitions.

Since joining Arsenal in the 2022 summer transfer window for a fee of £45m (via Sky Sports), the Brazilian has bagged 19 goals and delivered 15 assists in 79 games.

Back in December, Jesus admitted he struggled for a period at City with things people were saying about him and his performances.

If he still has the same mindset towards criticism, he’ll really be in a spot of bother given what Agbonlahor has now said about him.

More recently, after the final whistle blew in City’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal, Jesus had a verbal back and forth with Erling Haaland which caught some people’s attention.

So if he’s brave enough to come face to face with Haaland, he’ll have what it takes to get himself back on track for the Gunners.
