Manchester City crashed to another defeat on Sunday against Liverpool in the Premier League.
Goals from Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah earned the Reds a huge three points at Anfield, with Manchester City now 11 points behind the leaders.
The awful run of results for City means the club are currently now down in fifth place in the table.
All of a sudden, talk has turned from the title, to trying to finish in the top four, with the team trying to overcome several problems right now.
It’s very difficult to vouch for City to win the league from this position, and pundit Gary Neville is among those who believe that it will be practically impossible now given the current gap.
Gary Neville suggests there’s hardly any chance of Man City winning PL now

Sunday’s game was a difficult watch.
City were second-best all over the pitch, and Liverpool looked extremely strong.
Nathan Ake came in for praise from Pep Guardiola, but most of his teammates put in poor performances against Liverpool.
City were hoping to make history next year by winning a fifth league title in a row, but that now looks incredibly unlikely, and Gary Neville gave his verdict after commenting on the game for Sky Sports.
In his eyes, it would be outrageous if City went on to win the title from this position.
He said on the Gary Neville podcast: “I said last week, ‘Can they, from this, win the Premier League title?’ I don’t think they can. I said last week after the game this would be Pep Guardiola’s greatest-ever title. If they won it after today, I mean, it would be beyond ridiculous if they were to win it from Liverpool being 11 points clear.
“It would mean Liverpool would have had to have completely folded, and City will have had to have arrested, what looks like, a decline of this team at this moment in time.”
Man City have a mountain to climb
Winning a fifth straight Premier League title was always going to be extremely difficult.
The injury problems have really hindered City and the loss of Rodri has been especially significant.
We’ve seen City claw back big deficits, but that doesn’t feel likely this time. There are too many issues right now, and the state of the squad isn’t optimal.

There is a feeling that the end of a cycle has been reached, and that City now need three or four new stars to replace longer-serving players.
The focus should now be on making sure Champions League qualification is ensured, and making the top four is something Jamie Carragher believes should now be Man City’s focus. The idea should also be to replenish the squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
