Gio Reyna has named Manchester City striker Erling Haaland as the best player he has played alongside in his career.

The midfielder recently secured a loan move to Nottingham Forest from Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season.

Prior to that, the 21-year-old had featured in 14 matches for the German side in all competitions but only started two of them, which makes it easy to see why he has left the club on loan in a presumed effort to get more game time.

Not long after this deal was officially announced, the Midlands club shared a video of their new signing sharing some information about himself, with one City player getting a mention.

In a recent quick-fire Q&A video shared on Forest’s official Tik Tok account, Reyna was asked who the best player he has ever played with is, which he then named as Haaland.

During their time together at Dortmund, the duo featured in 58 games and racked up nine joint goal participations.

Before making his move to City in the 2022 summer transfer window, Haaland scored 86 goals in 89 appearances across all competitions.

Since joining Pep Guardiola’s side, the Norwegian has found the net 71 times in 76 matches, winning five major titles along the way.

Taking into account how prolific the 23-year-old has been in front of goal throughout his career, it’s no surprise that Reyna has named him as the best player he has shared a pitch with, even though the midfielder has also had the likes of Marco Reus and Jude Bellingham as teammates.

Now that the American international has joined Forest, it’ll be interesting to see if he features against City when the two sides meet later in the season and how he fares potentially against his old teammate.
