‘Going to click’… Pundit says 23-year-old Man City ace is going to hit top form very soon

Chris Sutton has claimed that Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is going to find his goalscoring form again soon.

The 23-year-old made his first Premier League start for the Citizens in Monday night’s 3-1 win over Brentford since December, after being out of action with an ankle injury.

Despite getting 86 minutes against the Bees, Haaland was unable to add to his 14-goal tally of the campaign, although he did manage to provide the assist for Phil Foden’s third goal.

With Pep Guardiola’s side now preparing to take on Everton at the Etihad Stadium this weekend for their latest league outing, one pundit has shared a claim about the Norwegian and what the next few weeks could hold for him.

Written in his latest column for BBC Sport where he previewed and predicted the scores for all of this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, Sutton had this to say about Haaland and what he could do throughout the remainder of the season.

He said: “Manchester City are going to take some stopping now, but they do need Erling Haaland to find his shooting boots. Everything is going to click for him again soon, though, it is just a question of when.”

Having scored 14 goals across City’s first 13 league games of the season, it’s easy to see why Sutton has faith in the striker that he can get back to this sort of goalscoring form now that he has recovered from his injury.

With the Citizens on the hunt to regain the title and make history by becoming the first team to win four Premier League trophies in a row, it’s safe to say that Haaland’s goals – as they were last season – could be a big factor in how successful City end up being this season.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s match against Everton, if the striker can find the back of the net in this game, this would hopefully get confidence high and get him back in the swing of scoring goals.
