Graeme Souness has said that not many clubs would even consider signing Jack Grealish if he was on the market.
On talkSPORT (04/12/2023), the well-known pundit recently also claimed that he understands why Pep Guardiola prefers to play the engimatic Jeremy Doku over the 28-year-old on the left flank.
Graeme Souness doubts many clubs would even try to sign Jack Grealish if he was on the market
During his time at Aston Villa, it seemed like the silky technician was the hottest commodity on the market.
Not only was Grealish regarded by many as the Premier League’s most entertaining player but he was also one of the division’s best chance-creators.
But Graeme Souness believes that not many clubs would be interested in his signature if Jack Grealish was set to part ways with Manchester City.

“I don’t see him going to the byline enough and going past someone. He threatens to go down the line and comes inside. It’s how the modern game has evolved. Left-sided players want to play on the right and vice versa. You don’t want to become predictable, right now, he’s predictable”, Souness told talkSPORT.
“You put Jack on the market tomorrow, who’s buying him? For how much?”
Clubs would queue up in numbers to sign Jack Grealish
In our view, Graeme Souness is underestimating the value Jack Grealish can provide within a variety of tactical systems.
At Manchester City, the treble-winner adapted his game in a way that helps his side retain possession, exact control over games and significantly improved his game defensively.
As a result, if a top team demands Grealish to play such a role, he would easily be able to do so.
However, suppose a side aims to utilise the two-time Premier League winner in a freer role, akin to how he played at Aston Villa. In that case, there is plenty of evidence to suggest that he can thrive in such an environment while being one of the most influential players in Europe.
For a player as tactically malleable as Jack Grealish, clubs would likely queue up in numbers to secure his services.
Especially in the Premier League, due to his experience of performing at the highest levels and winning titles at the Etihad Stadium.
