Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has lavished praise on to the signing of Josko Gvardiol.
Speaking to City’s official YouTube channel after his side’s 3-0 win against Burnley, he was quizzed about the Croatian international’s arrival.

Branded as ‘world-class’ by Dani Olmo, the 21-year-old made his debut for the Sky Blues against Burnley, coming off the bench for Rico Lewis at left-back.
Despite only playing a few minutes, the former RB Leipzig defender instantly settled into proceedings, locking down Jacob Bruun Larssen defensively and looking extremely composed on the ball.

“He’ll bring much quality, of course. Great signing. He’s young so he’s got many great years ahead of him at this club so we look forward to getting him into the squad and to get to know him”, the Norwegian said.

Erling Haaland, much like those who have watched or played against Josko Gvardiol realises the level of talent Manchester City have snapped up.
So much so that while it may be considered as a hot take, Gvardiol certainly has the capability to emerge as City’s standout defender on the basis of form this season.
That may be quite a statement to make considering the likes of John Stones, Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji are all top players.
But Josko Gvardiol may arguably possess one of, if not the most complete profile out of the entire lot and under Pep Guardiola’s tutelage, it seems inevitable that he will confirm his status as an elite centre-back sooner rather than later.
