Pep Guardiola says Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones & Ruben Dias could play against Tottenham

Pep Guardiola has given the injury update every Man City dreamed of hearing, as Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones and Ruben Dias are fit to play against Tottenham Hotspur.

With City already 8 points behind Arsenal, the game against Antonio Conte’s side is a title-decider in a sense.

If the Sky Blues drop more points, even the staunchest of Sky Blues supporters may wave the white flag in the Premier League title race.

Keeping that in mind, it is a massive boost for Pep Guardiola to have all of Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones and Ruben Dias in contention to start.

After being virtually denied off a win against Manchester United after Marcus Rashford’s controversial goal was deemed legal in the Manchester Derby, the pressure is on the defending champions to come up with the goods against Spurs.

However, the Lilywhites tend to be a thorn in Man City’s side regardless of form.

As a result, it is music to the ears of anyone and everyone associated with the club that De Bruyne, Stones and Dias will be available for selection against Tottenham.

The Spanish manager now gives the much-awaited injury update.

Ahead of his side’s upcoming clash against Tottenham, Pep Guardiola delivered positive injury news about Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones and Ruben Dias.

On De Bruyne, he said after it was recently confirmed that the midfield maestro missed training that, “[Kevin De Bruyne] had a personal issue. Didn’t train [on Tuesday]. He’s back.”

Touching on Stones and Dias, the Catalan boss stated, “They are back [in the last 2 training sessions]. Train [ed] well, they are in contention”, he told MEN’s Joe Bray.

It is likely that the Belgian and the Englishman start against Spurs, but the same cannot be said about the Portuguese defender, who is making a return from a lengthy thigh injury.

However, having the option of fielding not just Dias, but De Bruyne and Stones against Tottenham is a welcome update for the Man City manager.
