During his time at City, the 51-year-old has a case for building the most dominant team in Premier League history.

If 4 out of the last 5 title wins are not enough of a headline, the fact that Guardiola’s side managed to become ‘Centurions’ and win an unprecedented domestic treble while doing so should be.

After committing his long-term future with the Sky Blues, the club legend discussed why he decided to prolong his stay at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola on his contract extension

“I am so pleased to be staying at Manchester City for another two years”, he told the official club website.

Guardiola continued, “I can’t say thank you enough for everyone at the club for trusting me. I am happy and comfortable here. I have everything I need to do my job as best as possible.”

“I know the next chapter of this club will be amazing for the next decade. It happened over the last 10 years and it will happen in the next 10 years because this club is so stable.”

“From day one, I felt something special being here. I cannot be in a better place. I still have the feeling there is more we can achieve together and that is why I want to stay and continue fighting for trophies.”

For any Man City fan around the world, Pep Guardiola’s contract extension being confirmed is the best possible news, as the man virtually guarantees silverware at this point.
