Journalist Simon Stone has revealed what Pep Guardiola did at the final whistle following Manchester City’s Champions League final win over Inter Milan.
The Manchester club won their first Champions League title in Istanbul thanks to a 1-0 victory that a goal from Rodri helped secure.

He said: “Pep Guardiola went straight to Simone Inzaghi at the final whistle to shake his hand. Now the officials.”
Rather than immediately celebrating with his coaching staff or players, the fact that the 52-year-old put his respect for his opponents first shows the class he has.
Across the 90 minutes, City racked up 56% of possession but had fewer shots at goal (7 vs 14) and fewer shots on target (4 vs 6) than Inter.
From a defensive point of view, the Citizens made more interceptions (10 vs 9) and clearances (18 vs 9) than their opponents.
This shows how hard they had to work off the ball to grind out the result they were desperate for.
Bearing in mind how long it has taken for City to win the Champions League since Guardiola arrived in 2016, it’s undeniable that he and everyone connected to the club will be over the moon that they won it on this occasion, especially having already won the Premier League and the FA Cup.
