Branded as ‘smart’ by Kevin De Bruyne, the 29-year-old dovetailed excellently alongside Jack Grealish on the left flank.

The Portuguese international’s highlight of the game emerged in the second half, as he made an overlapping run down the flank before setting up Erling Haaland’s second goal with a delightfully lobbed assist.

“Bernardo Silva is knitting everything together for City. He is causing United a real problem. United are wobbling”, he said.

The Red Devils legend also complimented Silva’s contribution to the second goal, saying, “It’s so similar to the chance he had in the first-half. Silva has been class, he stands it up at the back post.”

As Gary Neville marveled at the masterclass from Bernardo Silva against Manchester United, Manchester City supporters would have been all too familiar with his display on Sunday.

Time and again, the former Monaco maestro steps up in the biggest of games, be it out wide, in midfield and anywhere on the pitch.

Once again, Bernardo Silva ran the show on the left flank alongside Jack Grealish, constantly finding space behind the opposition defence and wreaking havoc.

If cometh the hour, cometh the man typified any footballer in the world, it would do so for the virtuosic technician.
