West Ham United have reportedly set their sights on signing Manchester City winger Carlos Borges this summer.
The Citizens have already seen one of their young players move away from the Etihad Stadium during the current summer transfer window as Shea Charles joined Southampton in a permanent deal worth a reported fee of £15m.
Now though, another one of City’s young talents is being eyed for a move elsewhere.
West Ham eyeing Borges transfer

In a recent Twitter post, journalist Mike Minay said this on the matter.
He said: “Carlos Borges has interest from West Ham AND other clubs. Unclear as to whether any deal would be loan or permanent.”
The winger joined City’s youth ranks back in 2014 from Sporting CP and has since gone on to make 79 youth appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 55 goals and delivering 42 assists along the way.
Last season saw the 19-year-old find the net 29 times and supply 18 assists in 33 appearances, which makes it easy to see why clubs including West Ham are looking to sign him.

In our view, given the clear attacking talent he has, City should have no intention of selling the youngster on a permanent basis this summer.
Instead, if they feel that he isn’t likely to be getting much senior game time next season, loaning him out to a club that would be able to offer him regular starts could be the ideal option.
Therefore, if a side like West Ham, for example, makes an offer to take Borges on loan and gives him the opportunity to play in the Premier League on a consistent basis, this is definitely something City should consider.
