‘Has that ability’… Micah Richards says Man City have a player who can actually just ‘make you look silly’

Micah Richards has claimed that Jeremy Doku has the ability to make a mockery out of defenders.

Despite not even having completed one full season at Manchester City, Doku has managed to do on several instances.

Perhaps the most standout example emerged when City beat Brighton 2-0, as the Belgian winger gave James Milner possibly the toughest time of his footballing life; however, that was far from the only such instance in his career.

Micah Richards says Jeremy Doku can “make you look silly”

During the Sky Blues’ 1-1 draw against Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium, Jeremy Doku caused Trent Alexander-Arnold plenty of problems and if his final ball was as inch-perfect as his dribbling was, the hosts would have demolished the visitors.

Against Burnley in City’s 3-1 win as well, Vitinho had a game similar to Milner up against Doku as he was well and truly ripped to shreds by him.

Now, Micah Richards has honed in on this ability Jeremy Doku has while praising his debut campaign in a Manchester City shirt.

“I think [Jeremy] Doku has started really well at City. There was a debate between him and [Jack] Grealish, Grealish adds more control but Doku has got more composure and has that ability to be explosive and make you look silly. He’s only 21, he’s got time to improve”, he said on BBC Sport.

One of the many reasons why Jeremy Doku is a treat to watch

As a former right-back himself, Micah Richards perhaps knows more than most why Jeremy Doku would be a nightmare to come up against.

Doku’s ability to stun defenders with his incredible dribbling and frightening pace makes him a pleasure to watch as not many wingers in today’s game are known to give full-backs some of the hardest games of their careers.

In the 2010s, the likes of Neymar, Franck Ribery, Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale and Arjen Robben were some of the many wide forwards who would make life hell for defenders.

As a result, a majority of football fans loved to watch them in action and Jeremy Doku has the same quality to his game.
