Troy Deeney has shared his prediction for Sunday’s Premier League showdown between Manchester City and Manchester United.

After Pep Guardiola’s side beat the Red Devils 3-0 at Old Trafford back in October, the two teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon for the latest Manchester Derby.

Looking ahead to this big game, one former top-flight player has shared his prediction for the match.

In a recent video shared on his official Tik Tok channel, Deeney had this to say about the upcoming match between the two Manchester sides.

He said: “I have this weird feeling, right, I think City win and I think United will sit back, soak up pressure and try and hit them on the counterattack.

“But I have this weird feeling it’s going to be quite a close game early on and I think if Man United score they’re just going to sit back and soak up all the pressure.

“But with [Erling] Haaland doing his thing and Kevin [De Bruyne] doing his thing earlier this week and getting that connection back, I think it is going to be 5-1 Man City.”

As things stand prior to this weekend’s round of top-flight fixtures, City are currently four places and 15 points ahead of United in the league table.

In addition to that, the Citizens have scored 23 more goals (59 vs 36) and conceded 10 fewer (36 vs 26) than Erik ten Hag’s side.

Bearing in mind how Haaland scored five goals in his previous appearance for City in their 6-2 win over Luton Town in the FA Cup, as Deeney mentioned, with De Bruyne assisting four of the Norwegian’s goals, it’s easy to see why the former Watford striker thinks there could be a big win on the horizon for the home side tomorrow.
