Stefan Ortega has heaped praised on Oscar Bobb after the 20-year-old made his full Manchester City debut against Newcastle.
Pep Guardiola opted to hand the Norwegian his first ever start for Manchester City, although it ended on a sour note as Newcastle recorded a 1-0 win at St James’ Park.
Nevertheless, the Oslo-born prospect gave a strong account of himself in a difficult atmosphere, leaving his German teammate impressed.

Well, the 30-year-old was full of praise for the Manchester City academy graduate.
As quoted by Manchester City’s official website, Ortega said: “I think it was a nice start for him. He had a lot of actions. We could pass the ball to him and he kept it, so he helped us a lot. I think he’s a really good guy.”
It’s nice to hear the Manchester City No.18 publicly praise Bobb, who deserves some recognition for his performance.
As WhoScored shows, the Manchester City No.52 completed three successful dribbles, more than any other player on the pitch managed to record.
Furthermore, Bobb made two tackles, completed two key passes and also won two freekicks for Manchester City on Tyneside.
It was a bright display from the Norway Under-21 international, and Ortega was right to praise him for his impressive performance.

While Bobb largely impressed at St James’ Park on Wednesday evening, there was one moment that appeared to annoy Guardiola – as spotted by Joe Bray of the Manchester Evening News.
The Norwegian wonderkid had a chance to shoot after Julian Alvarez opened up some space with a selfless run.
However, Bobb chose to pass to the Argentina international rather than take advantage of the opening, which left Guardiola with his arms up in the air before complaining to his coaching staff.
Hopefully, this moment is not held against Bobb, as he largely impressed despite making the wrong choice in that particular instance.
