Manchester City legend Shaun Goater tonight hailed Oscar Bobb during tonight’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup.
The teenager was handed his first start by Pep Guardiola in the Carabao Cup clash with the Magpies.
City dominated the ball as expected.
In the first-half, City didn’t have too many clear-cut chances.
But Bobb was at the heart of everything good for City, operating as one of two number 10s behind Julian Alvarez.
He showed real confidence and some lovely footwork at times to wriggle away from challenges.
And at half-time during tonight’s game, he came in for some nice words from Goater.
Shaun Goater impressed by Oscar Bobb on first Manchester City start against Newcastle
Speaking during a broadcast by City via X, Goater said: “I think looking at him today, he looks so comfortable. I almost feel as though he’s playing like he’s playing in the EDS.

“That’s shows you his understanding of what Pep wants of him, and that he feels comfortable.
“I can understand there’s always a bit of pressure and nerves for the young lads coming in to this. But he looks really comfortable tonight. That’s him really understanding what Pep wants.”
Bobb looks so ready to make an impact for City
Bobb did fade a little in the second-half.
But the youngster did his prospects of getting more minutes for the City first-team no harm at all tonight with his performance.
The Norwegian looks to be another fantastic young technical prospect off the conveyor belt of talent.

Pep Guardiola is surely going to giving him more opportunities.
Quite possibly, we could eventually be talking about Bobb in the same way as we were talking about Rico Lewis last season.
