Manchester City defender Nathan Ake has shared some details about his experience of learning from Pep Guardiola.
The defender recently helped his side pick up their fifth major title of 2023 by securing a 4-0 victory over Fluminense in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.
With Guardiola at the helm guiding his players to these five titles in addition to the many others he’s lifted during his time at the club, one player has spoken out about the Spaniard and how he operates.
Ake hails Guardiola impact

Speaking to the club’s website after the win in Saudi Arabia, Ake had this to say about Guardiola and what it’s like to work with him.
He said: “With Pep every day is a new day and every day you learn something. Technically the way he sees football is incredible and he sees things differently from others. He’s the best manager I’ve had so far, and he just stands out and he’s a top man as well but yes he’s an incredible coach.”
Since being appointed as City’s manager back in 2016, Guardiola has taken charge of 441 matches in all competitions, winning 324, drawing 53 and losing 64.
Given how successful the 52-year-old has been in his managerial career, not just at City but at his previous clubs as well, it’s easy to see why Ake has been so complimentary about Guardiola’s ability to teach his players how to become winners on the pitch in addition to being friendly with them away from the football side of things.
Bearing in mind how long Guardiola has been at the club for, the way in which he’s managed to keep refreshing the team and push them to win every trophy they compete for further highlights how much of a top manager he is and undoubtedly one of the best England has seen.
