Micah Richards has heaped praise on Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes for his performance against Burnley.
On Wednesday night, the Citizens beat Vincent Kompany’s side 3-1 in their latest Premier League outing.
Even though Julian Alvarez and Rodri got their names on the scoresheet, another City player has found himself on the end of some big praise from a pundit who has a big connection to the Manchester club.
Richards hails Nunes after Burnley victory

Speaking in a recent episode of The Rest Is Football, Richards had this to say about Nunes and his efforts against Burnley.
He said: “Do you know who was really good for Man City yesterday? Matheus Nunes. He was really, really good. He was brilliant, wasn’t he?
“When he comes in you think where’s he going to play? Where is he going to fit in? What are his strengths? We all know he can pass, that he’s a ball-playing midfielder, whether he sits deep or whether he makes late runs and he’s good at dribbling. Last night I just thought, yes, I can see him in this system.
“You’re always looking for something different to say about Man City. Yes, the big boys are back now but I just thought it was a really good, professional, tactical and technical performance from Nunes.”
With the full 90 minutes under his belt against the Clarets, the Portuguese international had 82 touches of the ball, completing 53 of the 60 passes he attempted.
Having provided the assist for City’s opening goal of the game, the midfielder ended up making four key passes, with Jeremy Doku being the only other player who racked up the same total.
This performance ultimately earned Nunes an overall match rating of 7.6/10 from SofaScore, making him the joint-fourth-highest rated City player on the night.
With all of that taken into account, it’s easy to see why Richards was so impressed with the midfielder and his latest performance for Pep Guardiola’s side.
