Manchester City are set to miss out on talented young defender Luka Vusković to Tottenham Hotspur.
The teenager central defender has been on the radar of some top clubs in recent times.
The Croatian starlet, still just 16, has really caught the eye playing for Hajduk Split.
Vuskovic made his first-team debut for the club in February of this year. Amazingly, he was handed 90 minutes in a league game against Dinamo Zagreb, despite being just 16 and two days old.
Vuskovic has gone on to make 11 appearances for the club.
Perhaps inevitably, Vuskovic having such prominence at such a young age has led to interest from other clubs.
Earlier this year, City were linked with the exciting teenager. But it looks as though it will be Tottenham who sign him…
Tottenham on the verge of landing Luka Vuskovic, after reported £12 million bid for Man City
Fabrizio Romano has reported this afternoon that Tottenham Hotspur are now poised to land the talented Vuskovic.

He wrote on Twitter: “Tottenham are on the verge of signing Croatian CB top talent Luka Vusković! #THFC After top project for his development, Vusković only wants Spurs – despite interest from 5 more top clubs. Personal terms agreed, clubs finalising paperwork. Here we go.”
It is currently unclear how much Spurs are set to pay Hajduk Split.
Back in March of this year, David Ornstein of The Athletic reported that City were among numerous teams taking an interest in Vuskovic, one of the game’s most exciting prospects.
He actually even went as far as to claim that City had made a proposal worth £10.5 million in total.
It is unclear how close, if at all, City came to landing Vuskovic, who is described as having ‘incredible intelligence (Foot The Ball).
Vuskovic will be a name to watch out for at Tottenham
So it looks like Spurs will be signing Vuskovic and not City.
That’s a bit of a shame because he clearly has serious potential making his debut at such a young age.
And not just making his debut, but making a decent amount of appearances after that.

Obviously Spurs have some history with signing Croatian players. Vedran Corluka (who also played for City) Ivan Perisic, Stipe Pletikosa, Niko Kranjcar and the legendary Luka Modric have all played for the club.
It will be interesting to see how he gets on if he does indeed complete this move.
It could be a blow, but at least City are reportedly confident of signing another talented teenager in Valentin Barco.
