Manchester City have welcomed back Kevin De Bruyne – and his return is bad news for the club’s Premier League rivals.

On Saturday, the Belgian maestro made his return to Premier League action, a week after he played against Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup.

Despite not playing for over four months, De Bruyne has looked surprisingly sharp so far, already registering two assists and a goal since coming back.

It bodes extremely well for City, who will look to compete for more trophies come the end of the season.

Looking to do another Treble will be the hope, and having De Bruyne back is absolutely key to any pursuit of three trophies again.

De Bruyne is certainly in a good place right now, with a report sharing details of his recovery over the last few months…

The Daily Mail have provided some information about De Bruyne’s frame of mind having spent the last four months or so on the sidelines.

For a lot of players, being on the sidelines with an injury can be a frustrating time, and mentally challenging.

But De Bruyne hasn’t exactly loathed not playing, admitting after the game with Newcastle ‘honestly it’s not been that hard (being away)’.

De Bruyne has been recovering from his injury using state-of-the-art facilities at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, and also spent his downtime watching Westerlo in the Belgian Pro League and going on holiday to Dubai.

Apparently, as a result of his recent stress-free lifestyle, De Bruyne has been ‘smiling more’ since being back at City. The Daily Mail quotes a source as saying: “He’s a changed man over the last few months.”

A happy De Bruyne could be a scary De Bruyne

Since coming back, De Bruyne has definitely cut a very relaxed and happy figure, and this really does bode well for the coming months.

The 32-year-old has been afforded some time to rest up and get himself back into the perfect mindset ahead of his return.

City fans would therefore like to think that he is in a very good position to make a significant impact going forward.

As Jurgen Klopp said, ‘the whole country is starting to shake’ about De Bruyne’s return.
