Amadou Onana believes Kevin De Bruyne is one of the best midfielders in the history of the game.
The Everton dynamo has had the privilege of playing alongside De Bruyne for the Belgian national team.
While in the Premier League, Amadou Onana has also faced the 32-year-old multiple times when the Toffees have faced Manchester City.

Being a Belgian, it is natural that the former Lille midfielder has always kept a close eye on the £54 million (The Telegraph) man’s career, as he is one of, if not his nation’s best-ever player.
During an interview with the Premier League [via YouTube], Amadou Onana claimed that Kevin De Bruyne is one of the best midfielders to have ever graced the game.
“For me personally and this is my honest opinion, he’s probably one of the best midfielders ever, that’s ever played the game, to me. Playing with him in the national team obviously, an unbelievable player for me”, he said.
Amadou Onana was quizzed about what it is like to learn from a player like Kevin De Bruyne.
“He’s just different, man. He’s just different because I feel like he sees the game with different eyes. He sees things that we normal people don’t see. For me, he’s a genius.”
Kevin De Bruyne will be viewed as one of the midfield greats by future generations
Much like Amadou Onana, who is just 22 years old, football fans and players will look up to Kevin De Bruyne like he does.
Perhaps players, pundits and supporters who grew up in previous generations may fail to fathom the greatness De Bruyne is producing year after year, as often occurs with several current elite performers.
However, those who have grown up watching the treble-winner dominate European football, in our view, will view him as one of the greatest midfielders of all time.
Ultimately, players like Kevin De Bruyne have operated at such a level that at some point, all even every rival supporter can do is look back on their time with admiration.
But it would be ideal if maestros like De Bruyne would be fully appreciated currently as they are still delivering at the highest level.
