Charlie Adam has praised Pep Guardiola for the way he coaches his Manchester City players.
The Spaniard recently saw his side beat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park in the Premier League after they were crowned world champions by winning the FIFA Club World Cup a few days earlier.
This latest victory has since led to one pundit and former top-flight player sharing his thoughts on the City boss and what he does to get his players to perform on the pitch at a high level.
Adam hails Guardiola

Speaking in a recent edition of Football Daily, Adam had this to say about Guardiola following City’s win over Everton.
He said: “Pep knows he’s got the best players, he’s a genius, he’s changed football. But what he’s done is he’s got a group of players and you talk about tactically and yes he’s got the best players but he gets these lads going week in week out performing.
“They were eight points, five points behind but they don’t think too far ahead, they just think about the next game. He’ll now be walking back thinking what’s the next one and just love winning football matches.”
On Wednesday evening, the Blues found themselves 1-0 down thanks to a goal from Jack Harrison in the 29th minute of the game.
Having then gone on to score three goals in the second half, this shows the fight and character that the City players have to make sure they ended the game with what they came for – three points.
Prior to the Everton game, Guardiola told the media that he was immensely proud of his players after overhearing them on the way back from Saudi Arabia talking about the match at Goodison.
This shows the mindset that the 52-year-old has instilled in his players, as Adam mentioned.
With the Citizens winning five of the previous six Premier League titles, it’s clear that this sort of thinking is a key aspect of their success and will hopefully help them make history this time around by winning it for a fourth year in a row.
