Kieran Gibbs lavished praise upon Jeremy Doku after Manchester City beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Speaking to ESPN FC, the pundit was quizzed about whether he would rather face Jack Grealish or the £55 million (Independent) at this moment in time.
Kieran Gibbs picked Manchester City new-boy Jeremy Doku off the back of his mesmeric showing against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Kieran Gibbs raves about ‘dangerous’ Jeremy Doku after Manchester City beat Brighton
Branded as ‘clever’ by Pep Guardiola, the Belgian winger tormented the Seagulls with his nifty footwork, fearless approach and pace to burn.
As early as in the seventh minute of the clash, Doku’s remarkable dribbling came to the fore before he set up Alvarez’s opening goal.
After Manchester City beat Brighton, Kieran Gibbs lauded Jeremy Doku, saying, “Doku just looks so dangerous right now. He’s the worst type of player for me to play against when I was playing. He can go left, he can go right, he’s always on the move and yeah, he’s unpredictable.”

“I think a lot of the time, he doesn’t even know what he’s going to do. They’re even worse, those types of players because they’re so unpredictable, you can’t keep up with them.”
Kieran Gibbs also highlighted that after witnessing Manchester City speedster Jeremy Doku terrorise Brighton, Jack Grealish should have a cause for concern.
“But he’s in fine form at the moment and to be honest, Jack [Grealish] might to have to be a little careful with how good he has been right now.”
“I think with Doku, he’s given Man City a little bit of injection when they’ve needed it so far this season. I’m a big fan, big, big fan.”
Jeremy Doku merits all the praise he has been getting
Kieran Gibbs is spot on about Jeremy Doku, who was the clear standout alongside Phil Foden against Brighton.
The manner in which the 21-year-old has simply instant adapted to Pep Guardiola’s methods is rare, as we have seen with previous fresh faces’ struggles in the past.
Week in, week out, Jeremy Doku is getting better and better and at this point, it seems egregious to even question whether he should start in the Manchester Derby.
