Huddersfield Town manager Darren Moore has praised Pep Guardiola for what he’s done during his time at Manchester City.

The two sides are set to face off against each other tomorrow at the Etihad Stadium in the third round of the FA Cup.

Ahead of this match, the Terriers manager took the time to share his thoughts on the man he’ll be up against in the dugout on Sunday.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup clash, Moore had this to say about Guardiola.

He said: “I think he’s led the way, leading the way and continues to lead the way and evolve. When you start to lead the way, others copy and follow so you have to be ahead of the trend and that’s what he’s done.

“He’s developed a unique way of playing the game but also getting the results in a perfect way of how he sees football. For me, it’s his passion and desire, that winning attitude which is not easy to come by because when you’ve won so much, then to be able to park it and move onto the next one takes a unique character. These managers have a relentless attitude to win and be the best.”

With 14 major titles to his name in over seven years at the Etihad Stadium, with five of them coming in 2023, it’s easy to see why Moore has such admiration for the 52-year-old and how he’s been able to be so consistent in terms of his success.

On the topic of trying to replicate last season’s treble-winning campaign, Guardiola said back in August that to do that again would be “impossible” and insisted that his side’s football, behaviours and mentality will dictate how this season will go.

At this stage of the season, the Blues are still in the race to regain the three titles they lifted last term and could take a step closer to the FA Cup if they get past Moore’s side tomorrow.

Looking ahead to the remainder of the season, if the City manager can guide his team to winning the three trophies they are currently hunting, this will undoubtedly increase his reputation and status as being the best manager in the world.
