Micah Hamilton has revealed that when he was younger, he used to enjoy watching Kevin De Bruyne.

Cut to the present and Hamilton is now training with arguably Manchester City’s greatest-ever player in the first-team.

During City’s 3-1 win against Copenhagen, the Englishman made his second appearance in the Champions League by coming on as a late substitute.

Micah Hamilton says he “used to love watching” Kevin De Bruyne when he was younger

Being just 20, Hamilton must have grown up watching several Sky Blues players who are considered club legends and icons of the game.

Names like Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany instantly spring to mind, as the youngster must have witnessed City’s rise from the 2010s.

However, the one player Micah Hamilton loved watching do what he does best from a young age was his current Manchester City teammate Kevin De Bruyne.

“I think when I was kind of younger, I used to love watching Kevin De Bruyne. Just like the way he plays, he’s so creative, he can make a chance out of nothing”, he told the club’s in-house media [via YouTube].

Micah Hamilton should study the Manchester City legend’s game

Unlike Kevin De Bruyne, Micah Hamilton is not only the type of player who operates in midfield.

The England U-16 international is capable of playing behind the striker as well on both flanks but in all of those positions, it would help him massively if he developed an eye for a pass like De Bruyne.

While it would be unfair to expect Hamilton to be able to thread passes through like the midfield maestro, in our view, he should study how the Belgian’s brain operates when he is trying to pick out a pass.

Even if Micah Hamilton gains an understanding of how the five-time Premier League winner spots gaps on the pitch to play passes through, there is no doubt that his creativity will explode.

After all, not many young players get the opportunity to learn from one of the best players in the history of the game.
