Nathan Ake has emphasised that Erling Haaland is simply rapid.

Haaland’s pace was for all the world to witness against Everton as he knocked the ball past Branthwaite and galloped past him to add to his goal tally this season.

Since his time at Borussia Dortmund, one of the 23-year-old’s most-discussed features has been his speed and he has used this attribute to full effect at the Etihad Stadium.

Nathan Ake says Erling Haaland is “so quick”

As a result, the Manchester City striker is a force to be reckoned with in transitions, as was seen last season against Bayern Munich and Crystal Palace when he left Dayot Upamecano and Joachim Andersen for dead respectively.

The Leeds-born goalscorer was often spotted beating defenders for pace in Germany as well, once famously doing so against Arminia Bielefeld in March 2022, when he clocked 22.56 mph (36.30 km/h), as per the Bundesliga’s official website.

Nathan Ake laid emphasis on the speed Erling Haaland possesses, while also explaining why he is such an all-round threat up top.

“He’s so quick, he’s fast, he’s strong. Out of nothing, he can score and in those spaces, one versus one, it’s very difficult to stop him”, he said [via The Independent].

Shows just how quick Erling Haaland is

The fact that Nathan Ake, who is one of the quickest players at Manchester City’s disposal feels Erling Haaland is rapid is an indicator of how fast he is.

One of the primary reasons why the Dutchman is tremendous at defending the channels is due to how pacey he is.

The same can be said for why Pep Guardiola has decided to utilise him as a left-back on several occassions since last season.

However, it would be fair to assume that the Norwegian international is one of the fastest players in the Premier League, alongside players like Kyle Walker, Micky van de Ven and Anthony Gordon to name a few.

As far as strikers go, it can perhaps be said with certainty that not many can beat Haaland for pace.

Unfortunately for defenders in England and across Europe, the treble-winner could demolish them in a variety of ways and one of them is just through his sheer raw pace.
