Theo Walcott has said that he would have loved to have been managed by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola in his career.

Branded as ‘ruthless’ by the i Newspaper, the Spanish tactician is widely considered as the best manager in the world and one of the greatest of all time.

In fact, Ilkay Gundogan recently said that no other coach has been as ‘innovative’ as the Sky Blues tactician for more than even the last 10 years.

Now, Theo Walcott has given his reasoning on why he picked Pep Guardiola as a manager he would have loved to have been coached by.

“It’s either Sir Alex or Pep. Pep because I’ve had sort of had insight speaking to him when I’ve been injured and I’ve chatted to him in the tunnel. He’s just an interesting person to speak to away from the cameras, put it that way. He’s very, very, interesting.”

Who wouldn’t want to work under Pep Guardiola?

Theo Walcott is no exception as working with Pep Guardiola would likely be every footballer’s dream.

Apart from those that have had famous rifts with the two-time treble-winner like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Samuel Eto’o and Frank Ribery to name a few, players across history would presumably die to work with arguably the best coach in football history.

Guardiola’s one-of-a-kind tactical brain combined with his faultless track record of improving players makes him a dream manager for any footballer looking to reach the next level and win trophies galore.

As Pep Guardiola continues to somehow further elevate himself as a coach, all one can do is hope for is that they get the chance to be managed by him one day.
