Rodri described Julian Alvarez as “the future” of Manchester City after his brace against Burnley in his side’s 3-1 victory against Burnley.

After the Argentine international’s splendid showing against Vincent Kompany’s side on Wednesday, Pep Guardiola hailed him as an “extraordinary player.”

Amidst the headlines about Kevin De Bruyne finally starting for Manchester City again and Erling Haaland’s return, Julian Alvarez’s performance stole the show on Wednesday.

Rodri hails Julian Alvarez as “the future” of Manchester City

With 25 goal contributions (15 goals and 10 assists) in all competitions for City this campaign, the £100,000-a-week (Sport Rac) man is showcasing in every game that he is a potential output machine in the making as well.

As Julian Alvarez celebrated his 24th birthday in style by putting the ball in the back of the net twice against Burnley, Rodri hailed him as “the future” of Manchester City.

“It’s good goals, isn’t it, to celebrate [his birthday]? I’m so happy for him because his season has been great”, he said, as quoted by the club’s official website.

Rodri added, “He’s now 24 but he’s the future of this club. He’s so well-adapted and I’m so happy for him.”

Julian Alvarez is a crucial part of the club’s young core

In footballing terms, 24 might be considered an age when a player is no longer viewed as young but in reality, they are and their best years are still ahead of them.

As Rodri said, Julian Alvarez is the future of this Manchester City side, who have several players around his age group or younger than him.

Both Erling Haaland and Phil Foden also turn 24 this year while the likes of Rico Lewis (19), Josko Gvardiol (22), Jeremy Doku (21) and Oscar Bobb (20) are even younger than them.

Already, each and every one of these players is an outstanding talent and does not look out of place playing under Pep Guardiola.

It’s safe to say that Manchester City’s future is in good hands, as the sky is the limit for every one of these players.
