Erling Haaland was over the moon after Manchester City trounced Newcastle United in blockbuster fashion on Saturday.
Haaland’s series of Instagram stories reflected how overjoyed he was after a De Bruyne-inspired victory led City to arguably their most crucial win this season.
The 23-year-old, alongside John Stones, was ruled out of the fixture and omitted from the treble-winners’ matchday squad to face Eddie Howe’s side.

After Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon scored two goals in the space of two minutes for Newcastle in the first half, it felt like the Sky Blues’ defensive woes had come back to bite them.
A defeat for Pep Guardiola’s men looked like it was on the horizon, which would have given Liverpool the chance to increase their lead at the top of the Premier League table to eight points with a potential win against AFC Bournemouth.
However, the Manchester City duo of Kevin De Bruyne and Oscar Bobb had different plans as they spearheaded their side’s 3-2 victory against Newcastle, which Erling Haaland seemed to thoroughly enjoy.
The Norwegian superstar reacted to the victory by simply captioning a selfie of him smiling, that read, “Yeah.”
The Leeds-born goalscorer also put the “crown” emoji above Kevin De Bruyne’s head.
The former Borussia Dortmund striker also took a picture of a shot of milk, while captioning it as, “need a shot after that.”
Erling Haaland is a true team player
Not every player would be as buzzing for their team as Erling Haaland was after Manchester City defeated Newcastle, in our view.
It would be natural to feel dejected from a personal perspective if one was unavailable to take part in one of their side’s most exciting as well as crucial games of the season.
But it seems like Haaland is a complete team player and his prime focus remains that City continue to get results, whether he is involved or not and that is, despite being known as one of football’s biggest superstars.
