After receiving the ball inside City’s box on the 33rd minute mark, Mbappe literally sat Gvardiol down with some tremendous skill, before firing the ball into the back of City’s net to make it 2-0 on the night.
As the 26-year-old superstar ran off towards the Madrid fans, he aimed his celebration at Gvardiol, by turning around and pointing towards him, motioning to the floor with his hand and highlighting how he made his opponent take a seat.
As a footballer playing on the world’s biggest stage, that must have been very hard to take for the Croatia international.
He’s a really strong character though, and will undoubtedly come back better and even stronger than before.

The bottom line is that Mbappe’s second goal was more about his supreme talent than Gvardiol’s shortcomings.
The 23-year-old has been one of Man City’s better players this season, and he is quite clearly an elite defender.
