A report has revealed how those close to Erling Haaland feel about him being linked to Real Madrid in recent times.
Almost a week ago, it was claimed by SPORT that Carlo Ancelotti’s side aim to wrap up a move for the Manchester City marksman alongside Kylian Mbappe by 2025.
In April last year, it was revealed that the release clause worth £150 million in Haaland’s deal at the Etihad Stadium that could have been triggered this summer was removed as Guardiola had decided to pen a contract until 2025.
It was claimed in January that City were privately confident of keeping the Norwegian international, despite the speculation surrounding the Spanish giants’ interest in signing him.
How those close to Erling Haaland feel about recent Real Madrid links
After all, it was also speculated last month that if given the opportunity, the 23-year-old would join Los Blancos tomorrow if he could.
Additionally, it was reported that Erling Haaland loves his time off in Spain and travels there every time he gets a break as he owns a property in Marbella.
Now, it has been revealed by The Athletic that those close to Erling Haaland are believed to have “laughed off” his recent links to Real Madrid.

Furthermore, it was claimed that as the release clauses continue to kick in year after year, the fee in question to potentially sign Haaland will be closer to £100 million than £200 million.
This very factor is believed to be a complication when it comes to contract talks between the 23-year-old and Manchester City.
However, whether these release clauses even play a role in the future depends on if Erling Haaland intends to leave the Etihad Stadium, for Real Madrid or any other club.
In addition, the report claims that with Kylian Mbappe set to sign for Los Merengues, the Norwegian’s chances of extending his contract beyond 2027 have only been boosted.
Some might assume that Paris Saint-Germain might try to lure the treble-winner but their sights are believed to be set on securing Victor Osimhen’s services as a replacement for the Frenchman.
As for Bayern Munich and Juventus, it has been reported that they were critical of the size of the Leeds-born striker’s contract at Manchester City, which makes it unlikely that they will try to sign him.
Neither is Erling Haaland claimed to be interested in signing for either club.
It has also been detailed that when it comes to Real Madrid potentially even trying to sign Erling Haaland, a deal would not be easy to complete.
Senior figures in the white side of the Spanish capital believe that if they signed the prolific striker, their other big-name stars like Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham would naturally demand a pay rise.
Currently, the Brazilian winger is believed to earn €12 million (£9.2 million) per year, while Haaland takes home more than double the figure at City. Spain’s league leaders have a plan in place on building a team full of elite young talents on relatively low salaries, at least in footballing terms.
Unless Florentino Perez decides it is the right time for Real Madrid to get a deal over the line for Erling Haaland, an attempt from the club to sign him is unlikely. But as for now, the club’s president is focused on only signing one superstar per summer.
The Sky Blues could perhaps offer Haaland a pay rise and a restructured set of buy-out clauses to tie him down to a new deal.
