Now Manchester City play at home for the first time in the new season this weekend against newly-promoted Ipswich Town.

Kieran McKenna’s side have been given a rough start to life in the top flight after starting the season against Liverpool and things will only get harder against the Blues.

With Pep Guardiola hoping to have a returning Ilkay Gundogan at his disposal, here is everything you need to know about the game.

Manchester City vs Ipswich team news

It looks likely that Rodri will miss another match at the start of the season as he still hasn’t been in training yet after returning from his holidays.

However, Guardiola will be hoping to have Gundogan available after his remarkable return to the club was confirmed on Friday.

Savinho has trained as normal this week after picking up a knock against Chelsea but Oscar Bobb remains sidelined.

Ipswich will be without Kalvin Phillips, who is ineligible to play against his parent club, though it will be a quick reunion for Liam Delap with his old side.

The Tractor Boys also have injury doubts in George Hirst, Harry Clarke, Nathan Broadhead, Cameron Humphreys, Janoi Donacien, Ari Muric and Wesley Burns.

Man City vs Ipswich prediction

Ipswich gave a good account of themselves in their opening match against Liverpool. They pressed high and took the game to the Reds.

Town managed to hold out for an hour but eventually Liverpool’s quality proved superior and they won 2-0.

City might be given a similar early shock on Saturday but their dominance on the ball should allow them to go ahead even earlier and win by a big margin.

Prediction: Man City 5-0 Ipswich
