Fresh off a stroll in the Champions League, Manchester City are back in Premier League competition this weekend.
Manchester City returned to the Champions League in style on Wednesday night as they hit five past Sparta Prague in a dominant performance.
Erling Haaland bagged a spectacular brace while Phil Foden, John Stones and the impressive Matheus Nunes all got on the scoresheet.
Next up for Pep Guardiola’s side is lowly Southampton, who have just one point to their name so far after returning to the Premier League.
With Liverpool not in action until Sunday afternoon, the Blues have the chance to go to the top of the table with a victory.

Manchester City vs Southampton team news
Guardiola maintained City would not be welcoming any of their injured players back for Saturday’s game, with Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku not fit to return.
“No, not yet,” he said on Walker and De Bruyne before being pressed more for an update on the Belgian.
“I don’t know. Of course, I’d prefer to have all the squad but it is what it is. Hopefully, he comes back soon. I would like to tell you but I don’t know.”
When asked about Doku and Grealish, the manager simply replied: “No.”

Prediction
City have been slow to get going in the Premier League and have repeatedly fallen behind in matches, even if have typically fought back for the three points.
Yet, if they somehow manage to concede first to lowly Southampton then some questions will have to start being asked.
Saints have scored just six times this season so City should be able to keep them at bay while sticking several goals past them.
Prediction: Man City 3-0 Southampton
