Manchester City will be hoping to make it three wins from three when they take on West Ham United in the Premier League this weekend.
It’s been a fine start to the new 2024/25 campaign for Manchester City, who comfortably defeated Chelsea 2-0 in their opening game and dismantled Ipswich 4-1 last weekend with an Erling Haaland hat-trick.
Now Pep Guardiola’s side are back on their travels as they return to London to face West Ham United in their last match before the first international break of the season.
After being drawn against Watford in the Carabao Cup and learning their eight opponents in the Champions League league phase on Thursday, City know the games will start coming thick and fast after the break.
First, the Blues will be hoping to keep their perfect start going against the Hammers.

West Ham vs Manchester City team news
Though he returned to training with the City squad this week, Rodri is still unlikely to be involved against the Hammers as Guardiola continues to give him as much time as possible to rest and recuperate after last season’s heavy workload.
Mateo Kovacic hobbled off with a knock against Ipswich and might be a doubt but was pictured in training so will likely be fit. Guardiola said in his press conference that he is doing ‘much better.’
If not, it could open the door for Ilkay Gundogan to make his first start since returning to the club.
However, Phil Foden remains a doubt as he ‘still doesn’t feel good’ after missing the win over the Tractor Boys with illness and Oscar Bobb is still sidelined.
West Ham, as is becoming increasingly rare in the Premier League, have no injury concerns whatsoever.

West Ham vs Man City prediction
West Ham have had a bright start to the season with wins over Crystal Palace and Bournemouth (Carabao Cup) and have an exciting forward line with the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus.
However, City won both games against the Irons by an aggregate score of 7-0 last term and will be confident of picking up another win, even if David Moyes is no longer in charge.
Prediction: West Ham 1-3 Man City
