Paul Dickov has said that having Bernardo Silva back from injury will be a big positive for Manchester City.
After missing City’s defeats against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup and Wolves in the Premier League through injury, Silva made his return to action in midweek during the 3-1 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
With Pep Guardiola’s side preparing for a big Premier League clash against Arsenal on Sunday, one pundit and former City player has highlighted how crucial the return of the 29-year-old is for the treble winners.
Dickov buzzing over Silva availability

Speaking on talkSPORT, Dickov had this to say about Silva and his return from injury.
He said: “One of the biggest things for me, about the Champions League game on Wednesday was having Bernardo Silva back. Because wherever he plays, whether it’s wide or in the middle of the park, he has a huge, huge influence in the game.”
Last season saw the Portuguese international show how important he is for the team. For example, as Dickov mentioned, Silva ended up playing in a variety of different positions, showcasing his versatility and reliability.

Having also popped up with crucial goals against the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, this further highlights how significant the midfielder is for his side.
With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why Dickov thinks so highly of Silva and why having him in the team again will be a massive boost for the team and Guardiola, especially with such a big fixture ahead of them.
Moving forward, if Silva can deliver a strong performance against Arsenal this weekend and help his side pick up three points, this will add to his reputation of being a top player for the club and someone who can deliver in the big occasions.
