Journalist Dean Jones has suggested that Joao Cancelo could join Arsenal from Manchester City this summer.
Last month, Fabrizio Romano claimed that the defender will be leaving the Manchester club in this window on a permanent basis having spent the second half of last season on loan at Bayern Munich.
Now, another journalist has shared some behind-the-scenes details regarding which club the City outcast, who had previously been prasied by Paul Dickov for his “sensational” efforts for the Citizens, could find himself at next.
Journalist says Cancelo could end up at Arsenal

Speaking in a recent video on The Football Terrace YouTube channel, Jones had this to say about the possibility of seeing Cancelo join Arsenal in this window.
He said: “There is still interest from Arsenal, they’re not active on it right now because they’re just ending phase one of their transfer window as they would put it.
“In terms of Cancelo, I asked someone about this again the other day and it was simply put to me that if he is still there at the back end of this transfer window, Arsenal might sign him.
“They’re not looking at it as an absolute priority, in fact, it’s almost like a luxury to get Cancelo in this transfer window.
“Cancelo is still a potential. The only thing that could change Arsenal being able to get in on him is that Barcelona really like him. So if he was cheap enough or they could do it on loan then Barcelona would make that move for Cancelo.”

With City having a track record when it comes to selling players to Arsenal, for example, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, it may not be a surprise to see the Portuguese international join his former City teammates at the north London club.
In fact, bearing in mind how Pep Guardiola revealed that the club were so desperate to get Cancelo out in January that they would have even sold him to Manchester United, this says that they may not be too picky about which side they sell him to this summer if a suitable offer comes their way.
In our view, while it may not be ideal to strengthen a side that’s aiming to stop City from winning the Premier League title again, this is a scenario where they should focus on getting a suitable fee for him rather than worry about his potential destination.
