Pep Guardiola has openly admitted that he is unsure about the future of Manchester City wonderkid Cole Palmer.

In his latest press conference (via Football Daily) ahead of the treble-winners’ upcoming Premier League clash against Burnley, he was quizzed about the silky winger’s plans moving forward.

However, Pep Guardiola said that currently, even he has no idea about whether Cole Palmer is set to stay, leave or head out on loan away from Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola admits Cole Palmer future at Manchester City is uncertain

It was claimed on Thursday that David Moyes was keen on signing the Englishman in a potential swap deal with City involving Lucas Paqueta.

After his stunning strike in the Community Shield, Palmer himself admitted that he is unsure about his future at his boyhood club.

Now, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has responded to all the question marks surrounding the future plans of Cole Palmer.

“Cole [Palmer] is with us.”

When quizzed about whether the Manchester City had decided to keep Cole Palmer next season, Pep Guardiola replied, “No, no, no. Today, he is with us. What’s going to happen, I don’t know, like other cases till the end of the month. I understand completely, he wants to be more active than the previous season. I understand that.”

Pep Guardiola concluded that the decision regarding Cole Palmer and his future lies in the hands of Manchester City and their higher-ups.

“But Riyad [Mahrez] has gone so we have one more place there. We will see. I cannot say anything because, of course, all the players need to know, me included as a manager, we have a lot of desires but the last decision belongs to the club. The club, not the players, not the agents. So, you want to leave from here, it’s okay but you have to deal with the club, because [at] one moment in your life, they bid for you. And the club have to decide if the best is to loan them or transfer, or stay here. All together, we do it.”

From a Manchester City perspective, one can only hope that the 21-year-old, branded as ‘incredible’ by Pep Guardiola himself (via GOAL) continues to hone his craft under him, even if a loan move may be on the cards this summer.
